China produzierte 2014 etwa 286,2 Millionen Personalcomputer, das entspricht etwa 90,6 Prozent der Weltproduktion. Seine Pro-Kopf-Produktion von PCs war damit mehr als 40 Mal höher als der weltweite Durchschnitt.
