The Chinese news-portal china.org.cn is a subsidiary of the China International Publishing Group (CIPG). We are operating in 10 languages and publish multimedia reports to inform the world truly about China.

We would like to expand the German section of our news-service. Therefore, we are looking for an

EDITOR (GERMAN)

for our news-website german.china.org.cn to start with 2nd of February 2015.

Your tasks

You are supporting your Chinese and German colleagues to create and forge our news-portal.

You are regularly translating Chinese and English texts into German and correct articles that are translated or written by your Chinese colleagues. Furthermore, you are encouraged to write editorials and features on topics you are personally interested in.

Besides, you may conduct interviews with interesting personalities in Beijing. We will organize some of these interviews, but we expect you to actively and permanently look for new interview partners.

Of course, you will report about special events in and around Beijing – with exclusive reports, interviews, pictures and possibly video features. Our company is going to send you on business trips to different regions of China, to work on in-depths reports. You are going to write about these trips for our German readers, do travel-reports or photo-stories and so on.

Requirements

) Native German, extraordinary language skills

) second language: English, Chinese (favourable)

) extremely good translation competence

) intercultural understanding

) load-bearing capacity

) being able to work independently on journalistic tasks

) desire and ability to work in an international team

) strong interest in China, its culture and its people

) joy in engaging with different cultures from all over the world (not only China)

) candidates must have a university degree, at least a bachelor
